What’s the correct order for vitamin C, retinol and sunscreen?

Follow our simple CSA Philosophy: vitamin C plus sunscreen by day, and vitamin A (retinol/retinal) by night. In the morning, cleanse first, then apply your vitamin C serum to clean skin for maximum absorption. Follow with sunscreen as your daily shield against UV rays and premature ageing. In the evening, start with a gentle cleanse, then apply your vitamin A to help renew and revitalise while you sleep.

Should I use a separate sunscreen or a moisturiser with SPF?

The decision is up to you. A moisturiser with SPF can be convenient; Medik8's formulas are designed to deliver optimal UV coverage, making them a perfect choice to simplify your routine while ensuring comprehensive protection against harmful rays. If you do prefer a combined product, be sure to use enough (more than half a teaspoon for the face and neck - around 3ml) and always opt for a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher.

All Medik8 sunscreens are moisturising creams formulated with SPF 30 or above to ensure daily protection against harmful UV rays. Can I use vitamin C and retinol in the same skincare routine?

Absolutely, they’re a powerful duo, but it’s all about timing. At Medik8, we recommend using vitamin C plus sunscreen in the morning, and vitamin A (retinol/retinal) in the evening for optimal results. This way, you maximise results while keeping your skin comfortable. Using both together at night can be done, but it may be too intense for some skin types.
