Copper PCA is the copper salt of L-pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (L-PCA). PCA, being a physiological component of the outer layer of the skin means it is not only a very effective active ingredient, but it is extremely compatible with the skin. Copper PCA has an exceptionally high antioxidant capacity meaning it has the ability to neutralise free-radicals in the skin which damage collagen and contribute to premature skin ageing. Copper PCA was shown to have an antioxidant capacity 40 times stronger than that of regular L-ascorbic acid, proving its skin protecting properties.
